Supporting Practical & Inclusive Policy Development

ADUK provides guidance and support to help organisations strengthen accessibility practices relating to assistance dog partnership access.

Policy Support
Our policy support includes reviewing existing policies and procedures, identifying gaps or areas for improvement, and providing practical recommendations to support implementation across customer-facing and operational environments. We work with organisations to help ensure accessibility and inclusion considerations are reflected in both policy and day-to-day practice.

Areas Commonly Explored
Support often focuses on welcoming assistance dog partnerships, improving staff confidence and consistency, and addressing operational barriers or practical adjustments. We can also support organisations in reviewing public-facing communications, signage, and cross-site consistency.

Collaborative & Operationally Focused
Our approach is designed to work alongside organisational realities and operational requirements, ensuring recommendations are practical, achievable, and sustainable within existing structures and workflows.

Assistance Dogs UK provided a fabulous service supporting the University to fine tune its Assistance Dogs policy. The feedback for us was timely, clear and with great suggestions to maximise our support for Assistance dog handlers. It is a great service to offer, so thank you!
